Ifá teaches us that a Destiny isn’t something that happens to us. Ifa teaches that we are active participants in our destiny and therefore the course of our life.

Baba A.O. Moyo

Background

The foundation of Ifá Cultivation is rooted in long-term study and priesthood rather than performance or aesthetic expression. Before ritual objects, ceremonial dress, or public display, there is ORI—the inner divinity and destiny that must be tended with care and discipline.

This work reflects decades of lived practice and scholarship, with an emphasis on responsibility, clarity, and ethical engagement with sacred knowledge.

Philosophy

Ifá Cultivation is guided by the principle that spiritual practice begins with ORI.

Every individual carries divinity and chosen destiny. This divinity is not symbolic or passive; it requires attention, prayer, and sacrifice. When ORI is neglected, imbalance follows. When ORI is cultivated, alignment and stability become possible.

Prayer is understood as nourishment for divinity. Sacrifice is understood as intentional action. Together, they form the foundation of a disciplined spiritual life.

Cultural Context

Ifá is a comprehensive African spiritual and philosophical system rooted in lineage, divination, ethics, and communal responsibility. It offers structured methods for understanding destiny, addressing imbalance, and cultivating alignment through lived practice.

Ifá Cultivation approaches this system with respect for its origins, depth, and cultural integrity, presenting it as a serious body of knowledge rather than a symbolic or aesthetic tradition.
